How can I get my site more organized, enticing and effective?
-
Thank you so much for being here. WordPress is awesome, but I don’t seem to have the “smarts” to get a good site up and going. Partially, I look at all you have to offer and go into sensory overload.
I’m happy with a blog or to pay for a Website. I want to present an engaging avenue for intelligent and helpful communication. For this, I just need to get started and need advice as to whether I’m going in the right direction, using the best theme, doing too much or too little, etc.
I looked at the VIP offer and quickly realized I wasn’t NEARLY in that category. So any suggestions or ideas you can offer are appreciated, and as I said, I’m happy to pay for the help. I will read the sections on the “Posts I Follow” and “Posts I Like” widgets.
I’m also looking forward to entering the weekly writing and photo challenges.
Again, thank you so much. I sincerely appreciate you!

P.S. None of the urls below are what I used to get to my site tonight, which was edwinakinglewis.com. Is that not correct?

We have a great “getting started” resource, have you had a chance to check it out? http://learn.wordpress.com
While we won’t be able to tell you which theme is the right one for you and if you should be blogging more/less, we are happy to answer specific questions about setting up your site.
You can also find in-person help from other WordPress users by visiting a WordPress Meetup group in your area. You can search for a WordPress Meetup group near you by visiting the link below:

Another option would be to attend a nearby WordCamp. These are 1 or 2-day events, usually held on weekends, in various cities around the world. Every WordCamp is a little bit different, but they will have sessions for beginners through advanced users, to help support you and inspire you to make the most of your site. You can learn more and find a nearby WordCamp by visiting this link:

It sounds like you are referring to the Daily Post – it is indeed a great resource for writing inspiration and meeting other bloggers with similar interests.

Right now, you can only choose from the wordpress.com URLs when posting a support request. http://edwinalewis.wordpress.com/ is your WordPress.com URL, while edwinakinglewis.com is your custom domain mapped to it. You are good, nothing to worry about :)
I hope the above information helps, let me know if you have any more questions!
