How can I get my site title to register without being active on my site?
-
I have uploaded an image that contains the title of my site and I’ve opted out of inserting my title on the space provided for my site because it does weird things to my home page. However, by not including a title other bloggers don’t know who I am because my site registers as not having a name when they re-blog my content. I’d like for my site to be titled by not for the title to show on my site. Is that possible?

You should set a site title here:

If you don’t like how the title appears, you can customize it, or hide it, using CSS. However, to use CSS with your site, you will need the Custom Design Upgrade, which is included in the WordPress.com Premium Plan:

I’ve tried that link before and it does not look good with my header when I add the site title. I can’t really afford to put more money into the design – I had hoped there was a simple fix I didn’t yet know about.

Also, you could try a different header image or a different theme with a more pleasing layout:
