How can I get old website files deleted, when I have lost access to the account?

  I am trying to delete the WordPress files for a website that was closed down around 2011. The URL is https://headlandsint.wordpress.com/ which used to be connected to http://www.headlands.co.uk. Headlands International Ltd ceased trading in 2013 and the site that is still being found is causing a lot of problems for the old directors of the company. I would have created it using the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) (I think) but that email is no longer active and the domain is not available to purchase, so that I could reset up the email. Is there anyway I can get WordPress to delete the files? I have been round and round in circles on their help section. Any suggestions gratefully received.

  If you could please fill out our account recovery form, we’ll see what we can do to assist you in regaining access to your account.

  You can use the transaction ID on your bank statement from when you purchase the upgrade to submit the account recovery form. However, I am not seeing a time where http://www.headlands.co.uk was ever connected to https://headlandsint.wordpress.com/.

  To clarify, you don’t purchase anything now. We’re looking for a transaction that may have been made on that account sometime in the past that would provide proof of ownership of the site. If you hadn’t made any purchases for the site headlandsint.wordpress.com in the past you won’t have that information to enter.

  Since it sounds like you don’t have a previous transaction, please send an email to passwordhelp (at) wordpress (dot) com explaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you.

  Thank you. I have sent the email this morning, so will keep my fingers crossed that you can help in some way. I don’t recall making any purchases in order to create the site, but it was a long time ago.
