How can I get ownership of an old "ghost" blog? Or get it deleted?
-
I am volunteering with an organization called the Sky Valley Community Coalition. There is a wordpress blog that exists for our organization, but it is old, not updated, and has just been sitting there unused. (http://skyvalleycoalition.wordpress.com/) We would like to either start updating it, or have it deleted so that we can start a new one. The problem is that we don’t know who created it or any of the passwords or username info. We know nothing about it. It’s possible it may have been started by Dave Wood of the VOA, but he has passed away. Is there anything I can do to get this blog either going again or removed?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no expiration date on blogs unused or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog then there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.
if you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
