How can I get pingbacks to work?

  How do I get pingbacks to The Daily Post Weekly Writing Challenge (included in this post: http://charleneoldham.com/2014/05/06/bachelors-degree-bargain/) to work?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Charlene, that post has the “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.” setting enabled, so it should be receiving pingbacks. Have you noticed any posts linking to it that haven’t triggered one? Keep in mind that the linking site has to send a pingback, so it won’t work for all sites.

  If you see a link that should have triggered a pingback but didn’t, please let me know and I’ll be happy to investigate.

  The post I included in my question has links to the Weekly Writing Challenge that should be activating pingbacks but aren’t.

  Hi Charlene, I see the problem now. I think it was caused by using the HTTPS protocol in the link, rather than standard HTTP.

  If you update your post to link to http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_writing_challenge/student-teacher/ instead of https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_writing_challenge/student-teacher/ it should send the pingback.

  Please let me know if that doesn’t work, or if you have any questions.
