Hello there, Anne!
It appears as if you may have done this successfully. I visited http://tapestrycrochet.com.au/, clicked on your About page, and I do not see those widgets in your sidebar (short links/navigation/edit).However, I do see Posts, FireDance, Sturts Desert Spa, and a Facebook widget.
Were you able to fix the issue on your own, or can I still be of assistance? If there’s a specific page you’d like me to look at, please send me a link to it.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Sorry to reply this way I couldn’t find where yo write at the support forum.
The (short link navigation edit) is still there when I click on one of my posts.
Thanks

Hello Anne,
Ah! Thanks for the clarification.
What you’re mentioning isn’t a widget, although it does appear in the sidebar. It’s called the meta data for the post. Different themes place meta data in different locations. The only way to hide this deign element of your theme is to adjust the CSS code. I can certainly assist with this, but you do require the Custom Design upgrade to change your code.
If you choose to add Custom Design, you can do so here:
https://tapestrycrochet.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php
For more information, click “Learn More,” underneath the Custom Design header. You’ll learn the other features that come with this upgrade, such as custom fonts and colors.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Thank you that does make sense. I am a little unsure about paying for the custom upgrade for this theme as I have been looking at trying another theme. The cost would only apply to this theme am I right? You people are always so helpful it’s much appreciated.

Hello Anne!
The Custom Upgrade will apply to your site, not just your theme. So, no matter what theme you choose, the features that come with the Custom Design upgrade are applicable to your site.
The upgrade lasts a year, with an option to renew. You can preview it here:
https://tapestrycrochet.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftapestrycrochet.wordpress.com%2FSimply click on Colors, Fonts, or CSS, and feel free to play around with the tools. Without the upgrade, nothing can be saved, but you can give it a test run.
If I can help in any other way, please drop me a line. Cheers :)

Hi
Thanks I will buy the upgrade and try and do it myself. If I have trouble I will be back.
