    http://www.noveldesignstudio.com
    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hey there,

The ‘like’ buttons were showing up due to a setting you had configured. I have since changed it but want to explain what I did so you’ll know in the future!

    Here is what I did:

    – Logged into your site

    – From your Dashboard, went to Settings > Sharing

    – Scrolled down towards the bottom until I saw this option: ‘WordPress.com Likes are:’

    – I changed this setting to ‘Turned on per post’

Previously, this was set to “On for all posts” causing the ‘like’ buttons to show up under the Testimonials on the Front page.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with! Your site looks great by the way.

Sorry – just found a problem with two portfolio pages that both contain a gallery, but the links on other images on that page dont work. It’s the ‘Become a Client’ link on the client image at the bottom of the page. Works on all other pages, but not on the two with a gallery – coincidence? How can we fix it?
    Thanks again for your help,
    Tim

  • Hey there,

That looks to be an issue in the HTML. If you go to the Text editor view you can see the following HTML:

    <a title="Become a client" href="http://noveldesignstudio.com/become-a-client/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-185" src="http://noveldesignstudio.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/become-a-client-button-e1405630939206.png" alt="Become a client button" width="200" height="46" /></a>

This code should actually look like the following:

    <a href="http://noveldesignstudio.com/become-a-client/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-185" src="http://noveldesignstudio.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/become-a-client-button-e1405630939206.png" alt="Become a client button" width="200" height="46" /></a>

Here is how I fixed this on this on the Social Media Package Page:

    1) Selected the button image

    2) Unlinked the button image

    3) Re-linked the image to: http://noveldesignstudio.com/become-a-client/

    4) I then added a space between the paragraph and the image. I think this helped separate the code a bit better than before.

These steps allowed the image to be linked! Please try to this on the other page with the gallery that is having trouble linking the button image.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or anything else I can help with.

    Hi there!

I’m happy to answer these questions for you.

Can I remove or change the wording of the text right at the bottom of the page – “Create a free website or blog at WordPress.com. The Port Theme.”

No. All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits or the toolbar. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable. This is mentioned in our Terms of Service.

How do i link images in a gallery to pages in my blog?

Images in galleries can only be linked to Media Files or Attachement pages. You can’t link an image in a gallery can not be linked to custom links.

Can I change or remove the author of each post?

If you’d like to change the author of a particular post, you can do so by opening the post in the editor. There will be an Author module below the content. If you don’t see this, scroll back up to the top and click on Screen Options in the upper right. Check the box next to “Author” and scroll back down.

If you’d like to change how your name displays publicly, you can do that through your account settings page here:

    https://wordpress.com/settings/public-profile/

Unfortunately with this theme there’s no way to hide just the Author. If you’d like to remove the post’s meta information (author, publish date, categories) from displaying on your posts, you can do that using Custom CSS. If you’d like to go this route, you’ll need to purchased the Custom Design upgrade:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

Let me know if you have more questions!

Hi Shawna – thanks for your answers. Would the title at the bottom of the page be changeable if i transfered to a wordpress.org site?
    Thanks, Tim

Yep! On WordPress.org you can change or completely removed the footer credits.

Let me know if you’d like more information about the transfer process.
