How Can I Get Rid of This New (awful) Block editing

  Hi – can someone please tell me how to return to the ‘normal’ WordPress editing format? The way it was before they foisted this Blocking on us? I’ve tried the blocking. It’s… sorry, can’t use that kind of language on an open forum. But it has lost, or hidden, all my media. It’s harder to use. The new ‘look’ is awful and assumes we’re all IT experts. Nothing is obvious. They don’t half like making life a misery for ordinary users. Can anyone tell me a simple way to delete the Block-awfulness and return to classis WordPress? Thanks in advance.

  Also, you can install the plugins classic editor and classic widget and retest.

  The “classic” editor is going away and it’s replaced by Blocks editor, which is what is giving you a headache right now.

  Instead of the classic editor, you can use the Classic Block to get some of the options you’re looking for while creating a post or page – https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/

  Thanks, Amirudra789 and mirocm for your help. I’ll check out those links. Not so much a headache, mirocm, as a stonking great migraine! :)

  I did manage to change it to Classic – but it reverted as soon as I wanted to write another post and then I couldn’t find how to change it again. What a nightmare. This blocking is clearly not intended to be friendly for writers. It seems to be more for images and is as clear as mud in how it’s been set up. What a shame. Ah well. Back to the drawingboard.

  Does anyone know of any other blog sites that are writer-friendly rather than the dog’s (blocking) dinner that WP has become?
