How can I get tabs on my blog?

I’d like to get tabs on my blog for different categories – cooking, traveling, etc. I didn’t know if there was a way to include those at the top of my blog, close to my header. It’s not just a “page,” per se, like my “about” page. It would collect all posts that I labeled under a certain category, but still show in my regular home news feed as well. Any suggestions?
