How can I get the Publish button to function?

The publish button does not work on my blog. The only changes I made was to delete previous entries to start fresh and change the blog from private to public. Any entry I write, it does not allow me to click the Publish button. When I click it, nothing happens. I also can’t save as a draft.

We can’t help you uncover the cause of your issue and resolve it until you provide details.
(1) How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.
(2) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
(3) Are you using the secure http://log-in?

Thank you very kindly for your quick response. I was only able to gather half the trouble-shooting options from other similar posts I searched so the cumulative list was quite useful.
This is the first time I’ve used the forum so I will be sure to provide more information up front for the next time.
In the end, it was a simple browser issue. I had Firefox 13.0 and when I updated it to Firefox 14.0, it allowed me to publish.
I’m not sure who is in charge of “closing” this post?
