How can I get the statistics page to realise that I have changed page order?
-
I changed the order of pages on my blog, http://www.tegfan.net so that the posts page was no longer the first page on the site. The first page is now called ‘The House’. This seems to work OK. However, on the statistics page the posts page is called “Home page / Archives” and when I click on it I am taken to ‘The House’ rather than the posts page. When I click on ‘The House’ on my statistics page I am again taken to ‘The House’. The other pages correlate as they should. There is obviously something of the original page order here. How can I update it properly.

Hi,
That’s expected and how it is supposed to work.
The “Home page / Archives” entries were views recorded when “Latest Posts” was set to be your site home page. Clicking on it will take you to your home page, which is now actually the content from “The House”.
“The House” entries were views of either The House post when it was a separate page or after it has been set to the home page. When clicking on it, it will try to take you to the separate page that it used to be (tegfan.net/the-house/ or something like that). Since the site is set to have that as the home page instead, though, it displays the home page.
We do this so there aren’t two copies of “The House” on your site—the home page and the separate page—which can get the site dinged by search engines for having duplicate content.
After a day of having “The House” set as the home page, you’ll see the “Home page / Archives” will fall off since there are no new hits to it.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything else. Cheers!
