How can I get what is on the screen in edit to be published?

What I see on the screen in edit is not what is on the screen in preview. I especially have the problem when I use subheads next to a photo aligned left.
If you go in to my “How To Be A Successful Blogger: Expert…” draft, the bottom does NOT look like what is on the screen in “preview.” In “Preview, numbers 10-12 are all on top of each other, but in “Edit” they are all far apart.
This is a consistent problem that the edit and preview screens don’t match. Please advise. Thank you.

The editor view isn’t designed to be an exact match to what you’ll see in the published site. I know that can take some getting used to–and depending on the situation can be really frustrating.

I’m happy to help you get the published post to look the way you want it to. Did you remove numbers 10-12? I’m not seeing any numbers in this post at all, and it looks like there are only 9 sections. If you add the problem sections back, I’ll be happy to help get them working.

    Hi,
Thank you for trying to help me and responding.
    1. Yes, I took out the numbers.
    2. However, the post still doesn’t look right. I need the Experts photos and answers to be aligned and evenly spaced. The experts that currently are out of alignment are Glen Long, Peggy Nolan, and Lysa Wilds. If you could get these 3 looking like the others, I’d be grateful.
    3. You said the “edit” mode doesn’t match the “preview” mode. I’m not sure what the point of the preview is then. Going forward, how do I made adjustments for that?
    Thank you.

I was able to get these closer to what you are looking for. Let me know if that works better for you.

I noticed when I was working with the images that you have a lot of mismatched code in this post. (You can see it yourself if you choose the “text” or “html” tag in the upper right corner of the editor). If you copied the images and text from lots of different sites and pasted them into the editor, that could explain some of the trouble you are having. All that code is invisible in the editor, but it creates all kinds of problems–including the ones you were experiencing. You’ll have much better luck if you create your post directly in the editor in the future.

You said the “edit” mode doesn’t match the “preview” mode. I’m not sure what the point of the preview is then

It would have been more accurate to say the visual editor is a rough approximation of what you’ll see in the preview and the published post. It’s a middle ground between editing directly from the front of your site and working with the HTML code directly.
