How can I give private access to people who are not wordpress.com users?

  I am creating a private blog, but wish to give access to friends and family only. Most of them are not bloggers or wordpress users. Is there some way I can set it up as a password protected site and just give them a password?

  Because your readers will need to actually be members of your blog in order to view it, they will need to have a WordPress.com account to sign in.

  There currently isn’t an option to password protect the entire blog, but if you would like, you can password protect certain posts.
