how can i go back to the classic interface?

  • Unknown's avatar

    hello,
when writing a post, the interface has changed to something totally inconvenient, with a navigation column taking all the space on the left and a very small window for writing the post underneath. it’s ugly and NOT convenient at all. it seems the possibility to switch to the classic mode is no longer available and it’s really a shame. so the question is: is there any way i can change this?
    thanks

    Hello,

Thanks for writing in. Does the editor look like this?

If so, this is actually a bug we’re trying to work out. The new editor normally looks much better. Would you please let me know what version of operating system and web browser you were using when this happened?

However, you can stop using the new editor entirely if you prefer. Navigate to the /wp-admin/ dashboard, either through the link in My Sites, or by clicking this link directly:

When you add a new post, or edit a post, from within /wp-admin/ the classic editor will be used. You may also want to set a browser bookmark for the ‘add new post’ in the classic editor:

    hi,
yes, it does look exactly like this. my operating system is windows 8.1 and my browser is the latest version of firefox 64 bits.
i cannot seem to find the link in My Sites. anyway the editor looks exactly the way it was before and i’m much more comfortable with it. i’ll bookmark your links.
thanks very much for the solutions!
