How can I google verify my site? still not working!

I can not verify my website via google. Is it because my real url is thekatspjs.wordpress.com and not http://thekatspjs.com or ? I see the metatag seems to be in my home page, yet if I go to GOogle Webmaster Tools, it says my site is not verified. It has been weeks and I am thinking of trashing wordpress site altogether, because seems impossible.

WordPress.com is a hosted service so you don’t have access to the files in order to complete the Google verification process. That is a feature of the self-hosted and open-source version of WordPress available at http://wordpress.org. I just wanted my web site to come up in Google searches so people could find my business. I bought the domain. If I had the site on WordPress.org (not wordpress.com, as I do now), would that solve the problem? Can I jsut move everything from .com to wordpres.org? Do I need to get a different hosting source altogether? So confused. Thank you so much for responding!

Your blog will eventually be indexed by search engines unless you’ve chosen to block them under Settings->Privacy. It’s up to Google to decide when and how to include your site in search results. We have no control over that.
