How can I have my own URL and themes?

  I have this profile http://miketheblacksheep.wordpress.com/
  but I would like to change the URL and make it my own (without the wordpress.com)? Should I swap to wordpress.org? Is this possible? Since wordpress.com does not accept custom themes what is the best thing to do in order to customize my profile based on my needs? And if I have to swap, what happens with all the previous advertisement? People know this http://miketheblacksheep.wordpress.com/ url but if I’ll change it, will they be redirected when they would try to visit me of I have to start advertising again from zero?

  I know this answer has been asked again but this is very much complicated as I have a lot of demands…

  https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/downloading-themes-from-wordpress?replies=30 Obviously, if you want to customize a theme, you’ll have to learn CSS.

  And for the URL, the answer is in the FAQ:

  http://faq.wordpress.com/category/domain-mapping/

  People will be redirected to your new URL if you set the new one as primary on the Domains page.

  Thanks very helpful indeed

  I found that http://support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/ which means that you cannot change your URL but you can set up a new blog and import everything there (comments, posts, photos…) but what happens with the statistics? I have almost 5000, will they be transferred as well or I start from zero?

  Stats are never transferred.
