How can I improve indexing speed for a new tech news website?

    Hello everyone,

I recently launched a new tech and AI news website and I’m trying to improve how quickly my articles get indexed on Google. The site publishes news and insights related to startups, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation. For example, one of the articles discussing startup ecosystems mentions platforms like <strong data-start=”685″ data-end=”697″>Gentmind, which supports founders and early-stage entrepreneurs. You can see an example here:https://wegsa.com/<svg xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/2000/svg” width=”20″ height=”20″ aria-hidden=”true” data-rtl-flip=”” class=”block h-[0.75em] w-[0.75em] stroke-current stroke-[0.75]”><use href=”/cdn/assets/sprites-core-fk4oovux.svg#304883″ fill=”currentColor”></use></svg>I’m currently using basic SEO practices like submitting the sitemap and requesting indexing through Google Search Console, but sometimes new posts still take time to appear in search results.I wanted to ask the community:

    1. Are there any recommended WordPress plugins that help speed up indexing?Does internal linking or ping services make a noticeable difference? What are the best SEO practices for a new tech news site built on WordPress?

Also, if anyone has experience building content platforms around startup ecosystems such as <strong data-start=”1352″ data-end=”1377″>https://gentmind.com/<svg xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/2000/svg” width=”20″ height=”20″ aria-hidden=”true” data-rtl-flip=”” class=”block h-[0.75em] w-[0.75em] stroke-current stroke-[0.75]”><use href=”/cdn/assets/sprites-core-fk4oovux.svg#304883″ fill=”currentColor”></use></svg>, I’d love to hear your insights on growing organic traffic. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

  • Hi there,

I’m trying to improve how quickly my articles get indexed on Google.

The good news is that you’re already doing the right things: submitting your sitemap and using Google Search Console are the most effective steps available, and indexing delays for new sites are completely normal – Google’s crawl schedule for newer domains typically takes days to weeks, and that’s outside anyone’s control, including ours.

What WordPress.com does natively to help with indexing sites that are hosted with us:

    • Your sitemap is automatically generated and available at yoursite.com/sitemap.xml – confirm it’s submitted in Google Search Console.
    • Jetpack includes built-in SEO tools (meta descriptions, title customization, sitemaps) under Jetpack → Settings → Traffic – worth a check to make sure everything is active.
    • Publishing consistently and building internal links between posts does help Googlebot discover new content faster.

For deeper SEO guidance (keyword strategy, content structure, link building), that’s beyond what we can advise on here, but Google’s own Search Central documentation is the most reliable resource for that.

    Hope that helps!
