How can I insert a .gif file from my computer to load directly in my post?

I am trying to insert a .gif file into my blog and have the animation be able to move without having to click it and load a separate page. There are two blogs, I write in: One which I maintain, and another which I am an author for someone else’s blog. In the second one, I have no issue inserting .gif files. However, in my own blog (www.insidetheeagles.wordpress.com), when I try to insert a .gif file directly from my computer, I only get a still image when I post my blog, and have to then click on the image to load a separate page to watch the animation. I am using the same method for both blogs, yet for the one I maintain, I cannot get it to load properly.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • It looks like you might have figured this out, as I see some working gifs on your blog now. But the key thing is that you cannot resize gifs at all, or it breaks the animation. You have to upload and insert them at their original size. :)
