How Can I just change my website to a simple webpage (without a Blog)?

  I have set up my pages (in draft) but I just want a webpage where I can display my photo catalogue. How can I remove the “blog” ability of the webpage as people can still post comments on my website.

  You can refer to this guide to enable or disable comments on your already created pages and posts:

  You can also change the default discussions settings and make new posts and pages default to having comments disabled:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/

  Dear Diego
  Many thanks for the links – they were very clear and helpful. I made the changes and updated the page but it still shows a box “Leave a Reply”. How do I get rid of this dialogue box?

  You need to go into your Dashboard > Pages, and then edit each of your already existing pages.

  Inside “Edit Page” you have to look for the “Discussion” section, it’s one of the white boxes to the right of the big content area, just like “Publish”, “Page Attributes”, “Writing helper”, etc.

  The Discussion section has two check boxes: “Allow comments”, and “Allow trackbacks”. You want to uncheck “Allow comments” for each of your pages.

  Remember you need to click the Update button for the changes to take effect.
