How can I limit number of comments shown under pages and/or blog entries?

  Is there any way to limit the number of comments “shown” from visitors under page or blog entries? for instance, I’d like for only the first 5 comments to show, with an option to view more comments on the next page? That would prevent certain pages from being so long. Thanks, T

  I’m sorry but editing the html and/or php in our underlying blog templates is not allowed at wordpress.com http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/09/27/edit-my-templates/
  But that kind of hacking can be done on a wordpress.org template.
