How can I link my domaine name to my desired blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

I registered a domaine name, and wanted my new blog for my yoga business to be the first site that linked to my domaine. Instead, I find my art blog is the one that pops up. How can I change that?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I see that you purchased WordPress.com Premium and used it to purchase the domain sunshineyogawithkaren.com.

Since you purchased the Premium upgrade for your art blog at karenmcgady.wordpress.com, your domain is linked to that blog, as well. Would you like to move the Premium upgrade (including the domain) over to your yoga site sunshineyogastudio.wordpress.com? I’d be happy to do that for you — just let me know. :)

    Hi,

Yes, please move my domaine and Premium upgrade to my Yoga blog. It was my intent all along to link this domaine to the Yoga blog, so that I may promote my new yoga business. I might, at some point in the future, purchase a domaine for my art blog, but that time has yet to come.

Thank you in advance for helping me in this way!

Thanks for confirming! I just switched your Premium upgrade and domain over to your yoga blog. It can take a little time for that change to fully take effect, so please don’t be surprised if your domain acts a little funny in the meantime.

If you have trouble getting to your yoga blog even after waiting a bit, you may need to refresh your browser or clear your browser’s cache and cookies.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help. :)

I cleared my cache on my iPad, and now, not only have I lost all my tabs, I find I cannot pull up my yoga blog. At all. Needless to say I am frustrated, and am inclined to start completely over. Is it too late to cancel my domaine?

    Hi there,

I’m sorry for the frustration. It can take a while for domain changes to take effect, which is why the domain is still sometimes redirecting to your other blog. However, that change should take effect soon — at that point, the domain will lead you to your yoga blog.

In the meantime, you can access your yoga blog at the WordPress.com address: http://sunshineyogastudio.wordpress.com/

    Hi,

I checked my domain this morning. It STILL pulls up my Art Blog, and not my Yoga Blog. I ponied up the money to go “Premium”, my blog and domain do not properly associate and I am still being exhorted to “go premium” on my editing site for the Yoga Blog. I wish I had not spent $100, which I will never see again. Can you make my site for yoga associate with my domain, and can I please take advantage of the Premium service for which I paid $100?!

Thanks in advance for your effective help.

    Hi there,

I’m very sorry this isn’t working for you. I just visited your domain at http://sunshineyogawithkaren.com/ and it took me directly to your yoga blog. I also see the Premium upgrade on the yoga blog, too.

It sounds like your computer is still saving the old information about your blogs and domain. You may also want to try checking your blog in another browser or on another computer.

To fix the domain issue, you can also try flushing your computer’s DNS cache. Your computer should do this for you after some time, but you can do it manually to speed up the process.

Please let me know how that goes! If it continues to be a problem and you’d prefer a refund, just let me know and I can help you with that.
