How can I link to an actual paragraph on a specific page on my own site?

    Hi Helpful Friends,
I have a page on my site that I am using as a “site map”. I currently have links from this page to other pages on the same site that give you more information. I would like to link, not only to the page, but have the viewer be directed to a specific paragraph on that page. This way they are brought to the exact location where they can find the information they need, without reading the entire page. As an example, say you were navigating a website that had a list of questions and had a spot that asked:, “click here to find out more info about “x” “, and then the page scrolled itself to the clarifying paragraph. I want that! Please. Can we make it happen?

    Hi there!

Yes, we can make it happen!

We call this page jumping, and we have a guide on setting up here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/#jumping-to-an-anchor-on-another-page-or-post

Here’s an example from your site. On your page, Resume, you have a section called Education. Open up your text editor for that page and you can see this bit:

    <strong>EDUCATION     </strong>

Add the id around it, like this:

    <div id="education"><strong>EDUCATION     </strong></div>

    Save the page.

Then you can link to the follow URL, and it will take you not just to the Resume page, but to the Education section of the Resume page:
