How can I make a comment on a another's blog?
-
My complaint has nothing to do with MY blog. It has to do with making a comment on others blogs.
You have now made it where when I comment on a blog I have to re-fill in the ID and password again and in doing so I lose the comment. … even tho I am signed into Word Press. I don’t like it. If it continues like this I will need to resign from WP and either not blog or find elsewhere to blog. I cannot have my readers banging their heads against this issue as I am doing.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve had that happen to me too and it made me angry. I tagged this thread for Staff to take note of your feedback and mine. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Hi there,
I’m sorry for the hassle. Can you send me a link to a post where you had to sign in again when you commented? I haven’t noticed that happening on my end so it would help to see an example of a site where you ran into this.

above is the link to my sister-in-law's blog … apparently others are not having this issue as there are comments there.
until recently I was able to comment from my email copy. now I cannot.
I'm really tired of changes to blogs and social sites instead of making things easier they really make things more difficult. I do wish the managers would just leave well enough alone.

Thanks for that information. You mentioned that you can’t comment from your email copy — are you having trouble commenting specifically when you click the “Comment” button in the email you get about the post?
When you open the post, are you opening it in Internet Explorer 11 or a different browser?
Those details will help me keep investigating this for you.

It is Gmail/Google. I can get to the other blogs if I open WP first. The real issue is what has been changed over the last several weeks. Until then I was able to go to comment and send comment from the link in the email.
Please understand that before, and now, I always reached the Rant blog from the comment link in the email….. NOT the reply link. Hit comment and it takes you to the blog at WP. I keep myself logged in at WP. The second I reach WP I should be recognized as I used to be until recently. Instead, I enter my comment, and then I have to start from scratch with my ID. I fill it in, hit post and wallah, everything in comment box is GONE…never to be seen again…… and what’s more there is no comment box until I scroll down and start over again. Once more changes that should have made things easier did not. I an the “Ramblings of a Crazy Old Lady” and I objected to some of the changes to creating an entry to my blogs. I do wish I knew who makes these changes as that is who I should be addressing.

I agree that if you’re already logged in to WordPress.com, you should be recognized as logged in no matter how you get here (either via the comment link in the email or by going to the site directly). Hopefully our investigating can sort out why that’s not working for you.
When you open Gmail/Google, is that in the Internet Explorer browser or a different web browser? Once I know all the details, I can make sure the issue is reported to the developers who can help with this — I just need to make sure I have all the relevant information so we know where to look for the issue. :)

I do not use IE as it uses the Trovi browser, I have tried all of the current browsers and do not like too many aspects of them. Google is the one I keep going back to. Google and Google+ are all I use. Mozilla is the worst, followed closely by Bing. So the answer is Google.

rachelmcr… I know you are a happiness engineer, but I don’t think you wrote this program. Perhaps whoever wrote it could talk to me.
And did you notice (I did) that I am able to reply to this blog from the link in the email?

Can you make a screenshot of what you see on your screen when you click the “Comment” link and try to leave a comment? (If you can include the full browser screen that will help me out.) You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy.
I’ll make sure the issue you reported, with all the details you’ve included, get passed on to our developers.
And did you notice (I did) that I am able to reply to this blog from the link in the email?
Yep! That’s a feature to make sure we don’t miss any messages you send us about your support request. :)

I will attempt a screen shot.

If they can do it for this blog, they can do it for all blogs.
