How can I make a page appear under a specific menu item instead of on
-
I’ve written a review. It appears on the main page <Home>. How can I get it to appear INSTEAD in the menu item <Research, Reviews, and Information>? Have read and re-re-read posts vs. pages and menus and categories, but I am still at a total loss. I have done this twice, but cannot remember how to do it now. Will take notes this time. Thank you much. ;>) (Parenthetically, WP is amazing and powerful. I’m going to subscribe as soon as I conquer about the basics.)

Pages are a form of content, like posts, so they can’t contain posts. Instead, I recommend using your categories and category archive pages.

Sop you are telling me to make a page for my review. I have now done that. In categories, however, I only see my previously posted page, which is correctly placed under <Events and News>. I see a category that does not appear in the menu <Court appointed special advocate>. However, I cannot find <research, reviews, & information>, which is where I want my book review page to fall under. So my question is, would you please delineate the steps to make pages under categories and have them go into the proper category? If I am totally off base here, please guide me. I am at this point hopelessly lost. Thank you much for your previous reply.

Hi there,
You can’t make a page go in a Category, only a post. Pages are static, so they’re not as handy when publishing content that is updated often.
Having a Category that you can assign to your posts is a useful way to organize ever-changing content (i.e., blog posts) that touch on a similar topic. A Category “page” is a URL where users can locate all of the posts in the same Category – they’re linked by belonging to the same Category. For example, all of your posts related to “Research, Reviews, and Information” could appear together on a URL such as http://thecasaexperience.wordpress.com/category/examplecategory
You can add a post to a Category by going to the Edit or Add Post page and following these directions.
You can then add a Category to your menu by following the directions available here.
