How can I make a table with a colored background with 2 different links?

How can I make a table with orange background like http://www.somethingunpredictable.com did on their front page with 2 separate links. I would want each link to link to 2 separate blogs.

Thanks and I have been looking at the sites you posted. I am trying to essentially put a couple of large tabs that are centered in my front page. I saw a theme that had tabs under its header, and I want to people to be able to click on 2 separate tabs as large as what is on my front page now and go its own distinct posts. I am still working on the html, but it seems that there is something already in place withing wordpress. My front page is

Why not create a couple gif or png images, put them side-by-side and link them to the blogs?

Hi The Sacred Path. It is the same thing I was going on about last night. I am just thinking there must be something within wordpress to accomplish what I want. I will search how to create gif or pnp images in the forum or FAQ’s.

Okay I uploaded an image as a jpg, but the same thing happens with the html language showing. Would a gif or png change that?

I don’t think I am communicating very well. When I say that I want 2 different links, I want the links to link to posts within my blog that have a particular topic.

Well I am beginning to think that I can not allowed to add the html that I am adding and this is maybe a reason I am having problems. I am looking at other themes to use for presentation that will perhaps allow me to do what I want to do better. Do you know what theme this http://www.somethingunpredictable.com is using. I am interested in how they did their table with the 2 links. But I want to make it large visually on my front page so people see this first and can click on or the other link to go to posts within my blog. So how can I look at the other themes outside of being logged on in my blog because my content crowds the theme I click on. Thanks.

Are you still trying to put it in a table? I was talking about dumping the table and just putting the two images side-by-side on the page. That’s a self-hosted blog and I have no idea what theme it is – it may even be homemade. It isn’t the theme there is just a mistake somewhere in your code.
This is the html for a centered, linked image:
<p align="center"><a href="http://pagelinkhere"><img src="http://imagelinkhere" alt="" title="" /> </a></p> -
Actually let’s change that since you want them side-by-side
<p align="center"><a href="http://leftpagelinkhere"><img src="http://leftimagelinkhere" alt="" title="" /> </a><a href="http://rightpagelinkhere"><img src="http://rightimagelinkhere" alt="" title="" /> </a></p> -

Those RSS links in the orange area (if that is what you are talking about) aren’t in a table.
By the way, I wouldn’t use that site (or any of it’s HTML) as a guide since on the front page alone it has 65 html errors and neither of my browsers will even completely load it.

Thanks a lot Sacred Path. I took the table out and upload the photos. I have tried to separate the wheat field photo from the bread and grain photos, and it is not working. This is why I wanted tables. My aim with the tables was to separate the photos along with blog topics.
I want the wheat field photo to the far right on the front page and I want to write a summary underneath it like I did with the “The Whole Grain Scoop.” And then I want the titles such as “The Whole Grain Scoop” to link to the blog posts for that topic, which I created a page for also titled “The Whole Grain Scoop.” I am thinking that I should put “align right” in the html language and I have tried language similar to this, which did not work. So if you have anymore helpful suggestions, let me know. I will keep working on it. -
@bluebirdfarms
Go to my test blog. I’ve loaded your theme and put in a 2×2 table on a page, so it is possible.
