how can i make google find my blog when looking for my name

  I am wondering how I connect my blog with my name, so that google finds it when looking for my name without blastering my name all over the blog. Any advice would be much appreciated.

  I recommend you change your public display name to your full name. That will connect your name with your site in lots of small ways that will satisfy Google without seeming obvious.
