How can I make my animated Gif work?
-
This may be a bit of silly question but I want to post a couple of animated Gifs in my blog. Whenever I post something the short animation doesn’t seem to work. What’s the reason behind this? or am I doing something wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have an animated gif in my about page and i had no trouble posting it, are they for your sidebar

@dnadiana
They must be posted at the full size you want. If you use the WordPress cropper they will lose animation. Make sure the gif is no larger than the maximum width for your theme’s post area. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/maximum-image-width/ If it is, then resize it on your computer before uploading it and then insert it “full-sized.” -
Thank you very much for your quick responses. I wanted to post one in the sidebar as well as in my regular post. As @timethief mentioned it looks like the size of my gifs are causing that problem. I will try and resize them and see if that works.
Thank you again!

Make sure you re-size them offline before you upload them. As wrong as the wordpress.com cropper does not come into play they will operate correctly. Here’s a link to a post that lists the sidebar widths. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/01/11/sidebar-width/

Thank you very much for your help! Yes, I managed to include one in the sidebar just now.

I see multiple posts about not letting it autocrop, but:
1) I don’t see any option to not do that when I upload
2) It looks like it’s full size
3) No matter how many times I upload it, it doesn’t even show up in the blog, let along run.
