How can I make my blog display properly?

  The front pager slider has disappeared and individual front page images no longer appear.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  In order to set up the Front Page Slider:

  • Navigate to Appearance → Customize → Featured Content.
  • Enter the name of a tag.
  • Click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
  • Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 1024px wide.

  Note: The featured image will look best at these dimensions: 1440px wide, 400px tall.
  Give the post the tag you declared in step 1.

  Yes, that’s how I set the slider up – ages ago. My problem is that it has suddenly disappeared without any reason – or editing intervention by myself.

  Hi there,

  I’m not sure what happened, but it looks like it’s empty at the moment when I went to your Appearance > Customize > Featured Content section.

  Can you try setting it up again?

  Yep. I redid the slider and it seems to be fine now. However, there remain two issues.

  1. Why did it disappear in the first place? I notice that the process now of setting images for the slider differs from that which I went through originally (new customising features). I suspect this change triggered the problem.

  2. You’ll notice what I can only describe as a “odd little squiggle” that now appears in each post thumbnail entry/title section on the front page. What this? How remove?

  Hi there,

  After looking into your account, I found that about 5-9 months ago posts/pages and files were deleted from your account. In addition, there were multiple theme switches – which may have affected it as well because it goes back to the default (without all your customizations). It may be that while trying to clean up/edit the blog they were accidentally removed. So, I’m assuming that has something to do with it.

  As for the odd little squiggle – I’m not sure I’m seeing that. Can you provide me a screenshot and upload it to your Media > Library page?
