How can I make my blog found on google.

Whenever I try to find the blog that I made, it doesn’t show up, even when I put in the exact address name. I know that it takes a while for this to happen(made it at the beginning of the month), and that I need to generate a lot of content that’s original(already on that), but I didn’t buy my domain-does that change everything? Also are there any steps that I should be taking to make my blog more apparent and easy to search? I already have the googlewebmaster thing figured out, but that’s it.
