Without the css customization upgrade and the skills to edit the css yourself – the answer to your question is “no”.
With both then the answer is “yes”.
Do you have a wordpress.com blog? If so please post the link to it.
Do you have experience with css customization? The upgrade is not recommended to those who lack experience with css.
And have you purchased the css upgrade?

Thanks for the input. It’s good to hear something is easy. :)

Most blog themes are set up for post readability, hence the approximate 480-500 pixel column width for posts. As the width of the text area increases, readability decreases requiring much more eye and/or head movement.

edit: That said, it would be nice to have some slightly wider themes available, say in the 600 to 700 pixel post column range.

    Like mine!

If you really want a wider theme, send the suggestion to staff using your Support form on the Dashboard when Support is open. There would definitely be a demand for this, particularly among photobloggers and art bloggers. I love my 620px column!

If you want this right away, your best bet is to hire someone to design some CSS for you that works with the Sandbox theme and buy the CSS upgrade. You MUST have someone who knows what s/he’s doing before you start using CSS, or you’ll totally mess up your blog. But if you do hook up with someone like devblog, who did my theme, it’s an easy process to paste in their CSS and poof! Magical new design!
