How can I make my favicon crisper?
-
I uploaded a favicon to my site a week ago, and it turned out to bee too pixelated. I then uploaded a much higher quality image to be used as the favicon, but it has been 5 days and I don’t think the favicon on my blog has been updated. Does anybody have an idea why my favicon isn’t updating?
Thank you.

Hi there – Here it is when loaded directly:
http://1.gravatar.com/blavatar/1a76f2bf2d36986751fca400c2936421?s=16Is that the new one? If so and you don’t see it elsewhere, please try clearing your browser cache. If that’s the old one please try uploading it once more, and then reply so I can take a look.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. That’s still the old one. I’ve removed it and re-uploaded it, but it still seems to not have updated.
Thank you for your help!

Hi there,
It’s now this one:
http://1.gravatar.com/blavatar/94e832890e21b9841158a3038a24c90eWhich looks sharp, but I see it still looks fuzzy on the browser tab. What’s the exact size of the image file you’re uploading?

Hmm. Can you please upload the image to your Media Library, so I can download it and play around with it a bit?
-
I’ve uploaded the image to my Media Library. The image is called ‘LZ-logo-H-03’.
Thank you so much again for your help!

Hi there – I’m not able to get it to look any better. :(
If you drag that image larger on your desktop to zoom in, you’ll see that the edges are pixellated in the original image. If you have a larger version of that image, you might try uploading that and see if it looks sharper.

Hello,
The image that you get when you drag ‘LZ-logo-H-03’ from the media library is just the thumbnail that is displayed in the library view, not the image itself. If you click on the image, you’ll see that the actual image file is quite large – 5475px by 1343px.
Thanks again for your help. Please let me know what other options I have.
