How can I make my header look as good on smartphone as it does on computer/ipad

    I uploaded a personal image for my header and it looks great on computer and ipad (it was designed to look good with the title of the blog) – but not on iphone: the title and subtitle of the blog get jammed with the image and it looks terrible. Thanks for help

    Hi there,

    The Expound theme you’re using on your site is designed to adjust the layout to fit different-sized screens. On smaller mobile devices like the iPhone, it will just use the center part of your header image and fit that on the screen. It also adjust the layout of the site title and tagline to fit.

    Since both your header text and the image are black, when those overlap it doesn’t work as well. One way to adjust that is to change the header text color. You can do that under Appearance > Header in the dashboard (Apparence > En-tête in the French version of the dashboard). At the bottom of that page, you can select a different text color so it shows up against the black part of your header image.

    Since you have the WordPress.com Premium upgrade, you could also use custom CSS to customize your theme’s mobile design instead. We have tips for getting started with CSS here:

    Hey, thanks a lot for the prompt answer!
    I think I’ll go for the custom CSS option (I want to stick to black and white for the text and image of the header, I like it like that), but I’ll need the weekend to get into that… I’m really not a real geek and it looks complicated to me…
    So you will probably very soon hear from me again on the CSS support forum :)

    You’re welcome! CSS gives you a lot of control over how your theme looks, so it’s a good option if you want to play with customizing your theme. :) And do feel free to post on the CSS forum with any questions.
