How can I make my main nav titles closer together?
-
How can I make my main nav titles closer together? I have named them so they work as a sentence as well as separately – so it would work better if they were less far apart.
I have tried padding-right/left and margin-right/left – nothings working. Only to space them further apart and not closer together!
Anyone help?

Hello again,
You can use the below Custom CSS code in order to bring the main nav titles closer:
#main-nav li { margin: 0 0 7px 20px !important; /*The value of 20px will set the distance between your menu items */ padding: 0; }Please feel free to ask if you need anything else.
Have a good night!

Thank you kind person!
And as you ask, do you know anything about altering dns records?! What a name or host is meant to be.. I have all the detail I need but wp.com says my details are invalid when I input them. I have posted my problem on here, but nobody has answered yet!!

Hello,
As a Server Administrator, I have setup hosting for hundreds of websites and will do my best to help you. I believe you are referring to this post : https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/need-help-changing-a-recordscname-records-with-the-new-domains-interface?replies=1#post-2537666 ?
If so, are you trying to move a WordPress.com blog to a self-hosted WordPress installation? Have you had a look at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/ regarding how to move your domain?
Please get back to me with more details and I’ll do my best to help further.
Take care,
Onur

Hi Onur, thank you!
Essentially, I want to still keep the site on wp.com. Just transfer the domain name from mygoodmeasure.wordpress.com/ to good-measure.co.uk so the client can use his regular url.
I have looked at the help page you linked to and it doesn’t help me any further with the fields that need completing. You should have all the detail you need in my original post:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/need-help-changing-a-recordscname-records-with-the-new-domains-interface?replies=1#post-2537666 ? But here are the records I need to enter anyway. Maybe you could just complete what goes in the Name and Points to/Host and Alias of areas for me? As they are the fields causing me trouble…cpanel A 83.223.117.60
– Name?
– Points to?
—–
webmail A 83.223.117.100
– Name?
– Points to?
—-
autoconfig A 83.223.117.100
– Name?
– Points to?
—-
autodiscover A 83.223.117.100
– Name?
– Points to?
—-
mail CNAME good-measure.co.uk
– Host?
– Alias of?Thanks again

Whilst we’re at it! Could you also help me with the formatting of my social media icons in my footer too? I have added source code into a text widget in order to be able to link to my company LinkedIn page rather than using the far simper social media widget provide – as that only links to a personal profile on LinkedIn.
This is for my palmerowen.wordpress.com site.
Thanks again

Hi,
I have had to remove those social media icons as I have to send the link of my site to someone tomorrow and don’t want them there like that! The other ones (with the personal profile LinkedIn page) are there instead for now. So you know what the other ones looked like, I’ve uploaded a screengrab to my media gallery (screengrab_social_media.png). As you can, see they’re not contained as they ought to be in a small block.
I’ve copied the code I used in below:
<div>
<img title=”Twitter” alt=”Twitter” src=”https://socialmediawidgets.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/01_twitter.png” width=”35″ height=”35″ />
<img title=”Facebook” alt=”Facebook” src=”https://socialmediawidgets.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/02_facebook.png” width=”35″ height=”35″ />
<img title=”LinkedIn” alt=”LinkedIn” src=”https://socialmediawidgets.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/07_linkedin.png” width=”35″ height=”35″ />
</div>Thanks!
