How can I make the owners of the blog the people the update notification go to
-
I am a web designer and I set up the blog, but do not run it. I get a notification each time there is an update, clogging my inbox. I have tried altering the e-mail from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to (email visible only to moderators and staff) but the system doesn’t allow telling me the address is already taken. This might be a left-over from their old blog that was set up earlier, but the control was lost as the web site designer didn’t reveal any of the access codes to the control panel.
Best regards

A quick addition, perhaps the reason why the error message is coming up is because the public e-mail already stated is the one I want to also use for the update notifications. Perhaps the clash comes here and we need to create a dual e-mail, one for the administrator, one for the notifications?

Yes, email address can only be used once at WordPress.com.
You could ask the owners of the site to user your other account, or choose a different email address.
