How can I make WordPress the registrar of my domain?
-
I had a domain (queertheologen.nl), which was registered with one.com (which hosted the previous website). I had made it my primary domain for queertheologen.wordpress.com and it worked. But now SIDN (the company behind .nl) has informed me that the domain is deleted. It seems WordPress hasn’t become the new registrar of this domain yet. How can I solve this?

You have mapped the domain queertheologen.nl to point to your WordPress.com site. But mapping it does not register it through WordPress.com.
According to whois data queertheologen.nl has a status of “in quarantine” with one.com. You will need to ask them what exactly that status means.

Until recently, we had thought we could leave one.com behind and just build a website on WordPress and that would be it. But both from your response as well as from the response of SIDN (the organisation behind .nl) we have now learned that WordPress is not – and cannot – be the “registrar” and that we need one.com or another organisation to function as “registrar”. We will now try to register – again – at one.com.
