How can I map a domain that I have already registered through 1&1?

  I have registered a domain through 1&1 (www.1and1.com) and am trying to map the domain to my wordpress site. Currently, I have the 1and1 site set up to forward to the wordpress site, but I would prefer to do it by pointing to an IP address. My concern is that 1and1 does not want users using external name servers, so I’m trying to figure out what my other options are for mapping the domain using WordPress? Please help me.

  To map an external domain, you’ll need to follow this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

  Your registered domain is your property, so there should be no reason for 1&1 to prevent you from changing your nameservers.
