how can i map my own domain? (i do not want .wordpress.com!)

    dear happiness engineers, i really need your support. i just established a blog because i wanted to use my own domain sil-v-ana.com for it – the page told me that it’d do the mapping for it. now I made the payment and established the blog – yet it is not at all with my domain, yet with a wordpress.com domain – please help me get MY DOMAIN SIL-V-ANA.COM – otherwise this blog is worthless to me – the idea was to create a page on my own domain….thank you for your help! ps i am using a 3rd world internet connection, i know this aint helping…:-S

    In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

    Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

    No Domain Mapping Found

    There is no domain mapping upgrade for sil-v-ana.com. If you would like to use this domain you will first need to set up domain mapping.

    Don’t know what you paid for, but domain mapping does not seem to be it

    what do you see at:

    Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades?
    Dashboard >> Store >> billing History?

    thanks for your help! i think the mapping didnt work at first coz the internet connection was poor. now the mapping succeeded, but i got nowhere configuring the domain…
    the message always is the same:
    We checked the nameservers and it looks like they’re not pointing to WordPress.com yet. If you recently updated them please check again soon. It can take a few hours for registrars to complete update their nameservers.
    can i do something about this?

    Hi there! It looks as though you haven’t yet changed the name servers with your domain registrar to point the domain to WordPress.com:

    http://www.whois.com/whois/sil-v-ana.com

    You can follow these steps to point your domain name to us:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    Specifically, you should ask your registrar to change the name servers to:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
