How can I modify the comment entry field?
-
The blog I need help with is http://www.asmruniversity.com
I would like to either delete “Website” as an entry box in the comment entry field or place “(optional)” next to the word “Website”.
Is there a way to do this?
Thank you, Craig

Hello Craig,
When I visited your blog I saw “Website” was no longer included as part of the comment form so I’m assuming you sorted this out. Good job. -
Micawbr, thanks for looking at the issue on my site. I did not fix anything yet. The website entry filled should still be there, it does not show for wordpress members. Try signing out of wordpress then start to add a comment and see if the website entry box appears.

I’m sorry, I looked at the contact form by mistake.
If you have the Premium plan it looks like you can remove the “website” part of the comment form using this custom CSS:
.comment-form-url { display:none } -
Micawbr, that worked! Thank you.
Do you know the css code so I can change the faded text that appears inside the email entry box from “address never made public” to something like “optional entry, address never made public”, and add faded text inside the name entry box to something like, “name, username, or pseudonym OK”?
Basically wondering how to change or add the faded text inside the entry fields of a comment area.
Thanks for your assistance, Craig

Hi @asmruniversity, the placeholder wording isn’t controlled with CSS. If you’ll let me know what you had intended to change them to, though, I can pass that feedback along.

Supernovia,
I think leaving the email faded text as is may be OK.
If possible, how about adding faded text inside the name entry box which states, “name, username, or pseudonym OK”.
Thank you for your assistance, Craig
