How can I move my WordPress.com followers to my WordPress.org website?
-
I recently moved my blog to WordPress.org and have an outside host. I set up FeedBurner and would like to move all of my old blog followers to the new site. Please help, if it’s possible.
Thank you

Hi there,
We can transfer your email subscribers for you (only your email subscribers). Would you reply with your old WordPress.com URL and your new WordPress.org URL?
Cheers!

Thanks! My old URL is bethaneywallace.wordpress.com and the new one is bethaneywallace.com.

Hi Bethany,
I just started the process, but you will need your WordPress.org site to have Jetpack installed and enabled for me to complete it. So once you’ve done that, just let me know and I’ll finish the process!
Cheers!

Hmm… I am honestly not sure. Why is there no plugins section?
You might be able to install it by adding the directory to your site folder structure, but I would think you’d need to be able to access the information in the dashboard to properly enable it.

Hi there,
The site itself SHOULD have the plugins section; are you the site administrator? If someone set up the site for you, you may need to ask them to install Jetpack for you. Let me know what you uncover!
Cheers!

I apologize for my confusion; I was looking in the .com site, not my .org. Jetpack is not installed on the .com site. Again, sorry for my mix up.

Hi Bethaney,
Jetpack functionality is automatically rolled into all WordPress.com sites, so I wouldn’t expect to find it there, but it does need to be running on your .org site in order to transfer those email followers. Does that help sort things out?
Cheers!

Hi Bethaney,
I’m still not seeing a Jetpack connection for bethaneywallace.com. Have you enabled the Jetpack on your site, or just downloaded it?
Cheers!
