How can I move or copy content from one of my blogs to another?

  I want to move or copy all the content from scienceandartpress.wordpress.com to scienceandartpress.com, replacing what is currently on the scienceandartpress.com site. What would be the cheapest and easiest way to do this? The scienceandartpress.wordpress.com site is private and has only one confirmed invitee. I am not worried about losing traffic. (I can notify him of the change.)

  Do you want to move your content? Or do you want to rename scienceandartpress.wordpress.com so your visitors see scienceandartpress.com in their address bar?

  If the latter is what you’re hoping to do, you should register a custom domain name.

  I would like to move the content, including formatting in the Misty Lake theme. I have already registered the custom domain name of scienceandartpress.com.

  Hey Linda,

  If you would like to move content from one site to another, I recommend a simple export/import:

  To export the content from scienceandartpress.wordpress.com:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

  To import all the content into scienceandartpressdotcom.wordpress.com (which has the domain name: scienceandartpress.com):
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  Regarding your theme, you can install Misty Lake on scienceandartpressdotcom.wordpress.com/scienceandartpress.com once your content is moved, if you’d like. You would have to adjust the configurations however, to meet your needs. The theme configurations do not move when you transfer content.

  Once you’re ready to install the theme, you can click on the link below and click Activate:
  https://scienceandartpressdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?theme=misty-lake

  Thanks for recommending what sounds like a simple solution. I have only one question, at least now: When I export from scienceandartpress.wordpress.com, will the pages, etc., also stay at that site? (I would like to refer to that site as it is now when setting up the scienceandartpress.com site.)

  When you run an export, everything will remain in place on the current site even after you import the xml file to a second site. Think of exporting as “making a copy” of your content.
