Hi @gshivakanta.
It is possible to import data from one WordPress install into another.
Make sure that you don’t remove the contents from the original site until the import is complete on the new one, because the process will pull any images directly from the old site so it needs to stay available.
You can read more on the specific processes at the links below.
Export – run through this on the site you want to pull content from
Import – run through this on the site you want to use going forward

I am puzzled as to why you are tailgating my threads. The URLs are unknown here so providing additional information may not be the best way to go. BTW if you are a Staff wannbe, know that I will avoid posting anything into threads you respond in.

Hi @timethief. I apologize if it felt like I was tailgating any of your threads. I think several times this afternoon we just hit them at the same time. :)
In this case the second URL might be unknown, but there is a wordpress.com site attached to the question so I see no harm in offering info that might help out with what he is asking.
There was no ill intent in any posts, and I’m sorry if it appeared any other way. We are all here together to help other WP folks out, right? I guess I felt that if there was anything additional that could do that then there was no reason to leave someone hanging.

I agree that I follow up as well – but this isn’t a ticket system, it’s a community. We are all here to help each other.

Welcome. I’m not here to be competitive either. I no longer blog but still like to volunteer when I have a chance to and that is a multitasking situation for me. I’ve been a bona fide volunteer with no aspirations of being on Staff for 12 years now. I am visually challenged and struggle to read and type responses but hopefully, the eye surgery I have scheduled will improve my vision. Then maybe I won’t feel so weirded out when I see another volunteer I don’t know posting into the same thread. lol :D

A bit about me – I’m here just checking things out. I worked in tech support years ago, before I “temporarily retired” to stay home and take care of my kids. Eleven years later I’m toying with the idea of going back to work. I happened across a Happiness Engineer job posting a few days ago and was intrigued so I dug into it.
Volunteering in the forums felt like a good way to touch base with my old support roots and see if I still enjoyed it. With all the options out there I want to make sure that whatever direction I take from here involves doing something I enjoy. So far, so good, but I’m still just feeling things out. Of course I sidetracked myself from posting here pretty quickly to setup a little private P2 site with helpful links and forum responses. :)
Over the years I have started a few blogs as a hobby, but realized that I enjoy setting them up and playing with the formatting more than actually posting things so they are pretty sparse as far as content. I have always enjoyed puzzles, and approaching CSS and design issues seems to scratch that same itch for me. I have found posting here helping other people out to be personally gratifying in a similar way, so even if I decide that this isn’t the path I want to take I can see myself hanging around to volunteer.
Best thoughts for you for your eye surgery. I know several people that have had differing levels of corrective eye surgery and all of them have said it was a wonderful thing and that they would do it again in a heartbeat.
