hello, how can i paste a code from another site – for example a badge from instagram site that will give to my blog readers a link with an icon to my instagram?

My blog is on Blog Nation. The badge wouldn’t work as a widget, so I used Blog Nation’s text version. I could put the badge on my About page, so I did that. But Blog Nation is still not seeing the code. Any suggestions?
