How can I paste a googlemap into a post?

I paste html code from googlemaps onto the “text” page and when I update it disappears. How can I embed a map into a post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I found this on another post. Are you using the new Google Maps or the old? You need to use the old version and follow the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/

Oh no, I’ve made a dozen maps on goolemaps engine Lite – I’d be interested to know why it worked on one blog, but not on a wordpress one! Thanks for the help.

Here it is working on another blog

I am not sure – I think it is a wordpress platform, but it is all totally uncustomizable, so I was switching to a WordPress blog. Thought it would be better!

It is a WordPress blog but not hosted on WordPress.com. When hosted on WordPress.com, there are some restrictions. If you follow the instructions in the earlier link you should be able to embed the map ok.

*should*!!!!!
I open the map (on google engine lite) and then click the folder on the top lefthand side to get “Embed on my site” This then comes up with the following code: <iframe src=”http://mapsengine.google.com/map/embed?mid=zolBt8rIFn5s.kpOdChnvVUiQ” width=”640″ height=”480″></iframe>
I paste this to the text box in my wordpress blog, hit update and it disappears. -
The instructions listed are for the older version of Google Maps and the newer version may not be totally compatible just yet. Would need to get some one else to verify that though.

Would be great to know how long it will be……don’t mind waiting if it’s not longer than a couple of months (otherwise I could do a screenshot and paste it as a picture)
