How can I pay with PayPal for mapping my own domain?

  Dear Support Team,
  I am trying to pay with PayPal the USD13 for mapping my own domain to my WP blog, but when it is connected to PayPal, it is not possible to pay with my Balance there, it is only asking for my card number. Which I do not have at the moment, that is why I want to pay with PP.
  What can I do?

  Hi there,

  Because subscriptions on WordPress.com are recurring we require a card to be linked to the account to make sure you can pay for future renewals. If you have a debit card, or are able to buy a prepaid credit card those should also work.

  Also check if you see the option in PayPal to not make the payment recurring.

  Thank you, that makes sense – however, it is a yearly subscription, so you would not have a better guarantee with having a card on file than having a PayPal account…

  PayPal also has Subscription options, even for yearly billing – cant you use that?

  I asked our payments team about this, and with the current setup we have with PayPal this is the only option. It might change in future, but right now you will need a linked card in your PayPal account to be able to pay.
