How can I place an image within a paragraph and not have it make it to the galle
-
Whenever I add an image to a paragraph that same images makes it to
gallery that is on the same page that the image is featured on.
I do not want the image to appear in the gallery.
When I delete it from the gallery it also deletes the image from
the media library and subsequently from the page.
How can I place an image within a paragraph and not have it make it to the gallery. Twenty Eleven

Just upload the picture to your media library (by selecting New Media). Then edit your post and insert a picture. Instead of selecting the From Computer tab, select the Media Library tab.

That’s what I’ve done. Still ends up in the first position in the gallery.
When I delete it from the gallery it also deletes it from the media library.
When I add it to the media library and then insert it within the paragraph it automatically puts a copy in the gallery page.
Perplexing! -

I looked thru the support page, could not find anything that resembles this issue.
I believe it’s a built-in problem with the theme itself. Possibly can be fixed within the code, but that’s over my head.
I’ll live with it.
Thanks for your help. -
Upload the photo to Flickr or PhotoBucket, then add the link to your post. The photo will appear normally, but won’t be a part of the WordPress media gallery.

Or get the ID numbers of the images you want to exclude from the gallery, switch the post editor to HTML and change the gallery shortcode to this:
`[gallery exclude="NUMBERS HERE, SEPARATED BY COMMAS"]To find the ID numbers of the images, you go to Media > Library (dashboard sidebar), hover over each image and check the progress/status bar of your browser, or hover over each image, click Edit and check the Address bar of the browser.
