How can I place common formatted text on multiple pages?
-
Hi, I’m working on a site that has a long section of formatted text and pictures (formats defined in css) that shows up on multiple pages within the site. Currently, if I want to make a single change to that section, I have to make the same change on all pages.
I’m thinking there must be a way to have all this text stored in one place, and then somehow call that up on each page where I need it? That way I would only need to make the change once, and it would update everywhere – kind of like when you make a change in the css file, only for actual content on each page.
I know that one way would be to change the template for the page. Problem is that this section of text and pictures shows up in different places on each page – I’m thinking that would mean a different template for each page, which I’d love to avoid. Someone mentioned something to me about SSI includes, but those don’t seem to show up. I could be doing it wrong, too.
Hope that makes sense. I’d appreciate any help at all!
