How can I place post in a category without it appearing on home page as well?

  Do posts automatically appear on home page as well as their designated category page? Is there any way to have them only appear on their category page?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi, Similar problem to dafol2: re ‘posts’

  I’m in the process of setting up a wordpress site – still in the very early stages, as you can see. I’ve created different pages for different topics, including a general page, currently titled – very unoriginally – ‘blog’. However, on this page ( and it appears to be the only page affected in this manner on the website) I am unable to post anything.

  Also, if I go to posts on the dashboard menu on the left and try to post from there, it posts to a random page I haven’t even set up!

  Very confused. New to this and trying to learn about it all as quickly as possible. Any help from anyone who knows more about this than me – probably all of you – would be much appreciated.

  Hi!
  This is not similar to my problem. My problem is that whenever I post a new post it appears on two pages at the same time – on the home page as well as the category page I assigned it to.

  I don’t want it to appear on the home page but don’t know how to get rid of it without deleting the copy in the category page as well.

  Can anyone help?
