  I did all the above, it is a jpg. and all I get is the box with the red X or now this black box.

  it might be advisable to get your images hosted by a free image sharing service. you might like to try out flickr, photobucket or imagecave. to learn about other options you might like to check out http://shongjog.wordpress.com/2007/07/13/display-your-photographs-online/

  IMPORTANT
  wp is known to have problems hosting images. i read about it in a forum thread. (unfortunately, i can’t find that thread now.)
