How can I prevent readers from having to register in order to make comments?
-
People commenting have to give password and register. I have not checked the boxes under Comments to require this. I want readers to be able to freely comment without having to give any information. How do I do this?

Hi there – are you referring to the site http://patcegan.wordpress.com/? If so, I am able to leave a comment without being logged in, and without having to provide a password or sign up for anything, as you can see here:

Would it be possible to upload a screenshot of what you (or others) are seeing, to help in troubleshooting?
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot, if you’re not sure: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload the screenshot in your Media Library so I can see it. Thanks.

I am unable to reproduce the problem. A reader said that she did not leave a comment because she had to leave a password and did not know what password. I had someone else say that they had to leave an email address. I do not have either of the designated in my set up.

A reader said that she did not leave a comment because she had to leave a password and did not know what password.
If your reader clicked on either of the three icons on the comment form – WordPress, Facebook or Twitter – she would have been prompted to log into their account. This may have been where a reader saw a password field.
I had someone else say that they had to leave an email address.
An email address is required to leave a comment, if you’re not already logged in. It is never displayed to the public.
