How can I print posts

  • Unknown's avatar

In trying to print individual posts, I don’t seem to be able to get the print or print preview functions to work on the drop down menu.
Same goes for Easy-Web print etc
    Please advise

    Thanks

Hello! Have you enabled the Print button for posts via your Settings → Sharing, page?

    Add Social Share Buttons

If so, could you please detail where exactly you run into problems? Have you tried to do this from a different browser and/or another computer? Sometimes browser specific glitches can cause issues like this.

A little more information will help us troubleshoot your problem better! :)

Thanks very much for the response.
    Comments on your response:
    1. On settings, Sharing Settings, Sharing buttons, – Print and Email buttons appear in the Enabled services section.
I can now print individual posts using the Google Chrome browser.
I still have the same problem using Internet Explorer.

A bit of background as requested:
I am set up as an administrator on https://progressionsurveys.wordpress.com/
I log in on Google Chrome for this purpose.
Each post represent the CV of a disabled school leaver whom we are trying to place in careers here in the Johannesburg, South Africa area.
I need to give access to other users – potential employers or bursary givers so the can view and print the CVs. To test this I invited myself to become a viewer, using my fermoy@hotmail .com email address. This brings up the Internet Explorer browser.
I click on the Post name and this brings up the individual Post [CV]
I right-click on this for the drop down menu where I see Print, Print preview etc. Latter brings up a blank page on my printer screen, former does not send anything to the printer.
    Is this sufficient detail?

    Thanks again

Could you please tell us which version of Internet Explorer is installed on your computer?

It is likely that this is a browser specific issue. You can try and circumvent this problem this by making Google Chrome your default browser on that computer –

    https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95417?hl=en

Once you do this, all links you open, including the one included in the invitation email from your WordPress.com blog, should open in Google Chrome.

Let us know if this works. Thanks!

(You may also need to tell all your users to use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or v10 or v11 of Internet Explorer to view your site.)

I’m using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11
I have made Google Chrome my default browser as you suggest and will advise the users about Chrome & Firefox.
I would still like to be able to print the Posts from Internet Explorer 10 & 11 as these are the most widely deployed browsers in corporate South Africa
    Thanks

    Hi there,

I was able to reproduce this on our end. It has been said that if you put your site on the Compatibility List in Internet Explorer, it will allow you to print.

While you are on your site go to the Compatibility Settings View by clicking the little gear icon in the top right corner. Then click on Compatibility View Settings. The address of the site you’re on should be displayed. Click on Add.

Let me know if you have any questions with this!
